Biomechanics: Hamstrings

As much as we like to think that yoga is a perfectly balanced practice, that very often just isn’t the case. One form of imbalance that arises is that we tend to overstretch and under-strengthen the back of the legs – so those poor hamstrings become long and weak. This is not a good way to support and stabilize the body.
This class is designed to help bring more strengthand awareness of how to engage your hamstrings in your practice.

biomechanics: Shoulder Mobility

This class is focused on getting into those shoulders and exploring movements that we don’t usually do in a typical yoga class. We will balance out strengthening and mobilizing through the shoulders. By the end of this class you’ll have a better understanding of how to position the shoulders in your yoga class and the mechanics of the shoulder complex.

Biomechanics: Hip flexors

Hip flexors feeling a bit stiff recently? Well this class will definitely help you both mobilize and strengthen those hip flexors – this can help with certain kinds of low back discomfort and may even help you breath a little more effectively (as the psoas muscle is connected to the diaphragm via fascia)

Foundations: Thoracic Spine

The thoracic spine (12 vertebrae located in the upper and middle part of the back between your neck and low back) is a spot that often gets quick sticky in adults. This is a shame because this area of the body is designed to move! And when the thoracic stiffens this causes the upper and lower parts of the spine more strain (aka the neck and lumbar spine).
So let’s release any tension that may have built up here with this juicy foundations class!
